App Dev & Branding
What did we do?
We were initially approached with a request to develop a multi-faceted web-app. The core requirements included building the entire backend from scratch, complete with user profiles, a comprehensive admin dashboard, a discovery page with advanced filtering systems, and an integrated ticketing system. A key part of the brief was also to implement a full gamification system with user leveling, awards, and points. So, we took charge. We expanded the project scope from a development task to a complete, end-to-end partnership, from initial ideation to the final outcome. We designed the characters that would become the face of the brand, created video animations to tell their story, and developed the social media strategy to build a community. This holistic approach ensured that the final web-app wasn't just a piece of technology, but a complete and cohesive world for users to step into.
Our approach: We are more than just developers; we are product architects. When the initial brief for Onetime came to us, we were excited by the technical challenge. However, as we started the discovery process, we quickly realised that the client had a great idea but was missing the foundational elements to make it a success. There was no strong brand identity, no defined visual style, and no real strategy for how to bring the product to market. Many agencies would simply build what was asked, deliver the code, and move on. This almost always results in a functional but soulless product that fails to connect with an audience. We saw this as an opportunity not just to build an app, but to build a brand. We believe that a digital product's code, design, characters, and marketing voice should all stem from a single, unified vision. A user can feel when an experience is disjointed.
Beyond Functionality: Integrated Gamification What does this mean? It means we built a system designed to make the user experience engaging and rewarding, not just functional. Anyone can build a platform where you click buttons to complete tasks. We wanted users to feel a sense of progression and achievement. By integrating a system of points, levels, and awards, users are constantly rewarded for their engagement. This encourages repeat visits and transforms mundane actions into a compelling journey. It’s the difference between a checklist and an adventure, and it’s critical for user retention. The grand finale The end result was not just the web-app the client asked for, but a complete, living digital ecosystem ready for launch.
Without any further ado, we present some of the work we did on the project:
