Shopify site and product photoshoot
What did we do?
AJN Lifestyle, a premium leather goods company inspired by the elegant world of polo, approached us to build their Shopify store. The directive was clear: create a digital experience that was elegant, trendy, and deeply relatable to the equine industry. A key functional requirement was to elegantly structure their products into distinct themed collections—Maritime, City, and Countryside—allowing customers to easily purchase a matching set of items like a belt, dog collar, and keychain.
You can have the most beautifully handcrafted product in the world, but if you put it on a cheap, generic website, it immediately loses its value. This is the cardinal sin of so many premium e-commerce brands, and it's a mistake we refuse to make. We knew from the start that AJN Lifestyle's digital presence had to be as meticulously crafted as their leather goods. Our process began with a deep dive into their brand, looking at competitor stores and creating a detailed design brief to capture that perfect blend of classic equine style and modern elegance. From there, we moved to wireframes and a final design that felt both luxurious and intuitive. But we quickly identified a critical dependency. The most beautiful website in the world is nothing but an empty frame without stunning imagery. Before a single line of code was written, we knew we had to get the product photography right. This "content-first" approach ensures the final product is cohesive and doesn't involve trying to shoehorn bad photos into a good design after the fact.
Product Photography as the Foundation What does this mean? It means that for a premium online brand, the product photos are the customer experience. You can't touch the leather or feel the weight of the buckle through a screen; the photography has to do all the work. We chose to conduct a full photoshoot and create isolated white images for every product for a very specific reason: consistency and focus. This classic e-commerce style removes all distractions, creating a clean, high-end "catalog" feel that places the product as the hero. It highlights the craftsmanship, the texture of the leather, and the fine details, allowing the quality to speak for itself and building the trust necessary for a luxury purchase.
With a complete library of pristine visual assets in hand, we proceeded to build the Shopify store. The result is a seamless and elegant digital showroom where the quality of the online experience perfectly matches the quality of the leather goods being sold, providing a worthy home for a fantastic brand.
